It All Starts With Education

Watching this movie right now and really, people's perception of you is dependent on how you act towards them. The black family in this actually came off sort of rude in the first place, When the mother and daughter picked the White gal (forgot her character name) from the airport, they all ready had it in their heads that they were getting a black gal. Then, it goes onto show that the mother and daughter totally avoid her by talking to each other and keeping the White gal, following behind. When she locks herself in the room, they further just assume that she hates them. The mom fares no better by even calling the exchange to find her a new family. So really, would it not be right to assume that the black family was prejudiced towards her as well? Most people in the U.S. expect people from other countries to cater to their values, without understanding that our diversity should allow us to ease foreigners into our way of living.

Reminder: The O.C. resets to its first episode on POP network April 1 @ 2 p.m. EST
