I've watched Hannibal once or twice, but I have a question about Clarice Starling's first meeting with Mason Verger. Cordell gives her an envelope with an x-ray on it, but what does it signify? I know Verger wants her on the case, but I feel like I'm missing something. What about that x-ray was important?

Verger had bought the X-ray of Lecter's broken arm that he'd gotten while in the asylum from Barney. The X-ray led her to him and to get more information about what happened to Lecter after his escape. I wasn't paying great attention at the time, but I'm pretty sure that was it.
