Take drugs and party till the sun comes up, and then sleep all day and do it over again? What's the point of life? That would get old really quick.

Is the OP serious? Coming from someone who's lived this lifestyle for over 10 years (but no longer) what's the point of your existence? Go to work every morning to a job you hate, to put up with a boss you cannot tolerate just to go home, eat something unhealthy, veg out and do it all over again in the morning, what's the point?
This lifestyle isn't about partying every day of your life, its about the passion we have for the music, dancing, connecting with others who enjoy the same, its a form of freedom - from the grind.
Not all of us use drugs to enjoy this sub-culture of life, I certainly didn't need to but can't say that I didn't. I worked 5 days a week just like everyone else, but you better believe my weekends were my time to get away, to the underground...
It was the best decade of my life, I met some awesome people, got to party in England, Ibiza, Holland, the States, all over...Danced my ass off for more hours than you probably have put in at work over the course of your life.

I don't condone drug use and laziness, but everyone has a right to do what they want with their lives. If they're not hurting other ppl or destroying the world, who cares?
Also, the movie didn't imply they did it everyday. Didn't you see a scene at the end where some kids were in their college dorm?

Just perfectly put...thank you!!! I worked full-time & on my 3 nights/2 days off, the party was on. Why not? I was taking care of my business, not needing anyone else...why judge ppl who THOROUGHLY enjoyed life? Oh, that's right...bc you never really lived a life, so all you know is the negatives. Turn that frown upside-down. Loosen-up & lighten up!
shareI live for music...I don't do drugs...I've had plenty of nights like that and my life is wonderful. Perhaps not in the eyes of others but do what you love or you really have a pointless existence.
