I'm sure Jesus loves all His children even you and the socialists.

I never said He didn't.

You just don't get it, do you?

I think I do and you just have no comeback.

Trompos, the thing that everyone is saying "you just don't get" is that how could someone who loves Jesus Christ so much vilify socialism. Every single thing the Bible ascribes Jesus to have done and said is a socialist, and not a capitalist, thing to say and do.

What specifically is socialist about this movie? The janitors unionizing? Are pro athletes socialists, too? They're in a union. So are the police.

Well Ken Loach is notorious for movies with a socialist slant, he chose this story to show discrepancies in the American Dream and to have a dig at the lack of free healthcare over their.

A more poignant question would be, what's wrong with socialism? Myself and a billion other Europeans wouldn't live any other way.

Properly read, the Bible is the most potent force for atheism ever conceived. -Isaac Asimov

As a unionized janitor, I'm glad they made a movie like this. If companies paid good wages, treated their employees fair and gave health benefits there would be no need for unions. But after seeing this movie about janitors and what they go through, how could anyone not understand they need help.

Oh, you are so right! And you know what else? Its totally anti-Christian, too!

I mean, you know Jesus, it seems. So you'd know that he hated having to help the oppressed- just thinking about feeding the poor made him break out in hives. And justice? Screw justice, Jesus had better things on his mind than justice. Loving your neighbor? Pffft. I don't know which Gospel YOU'RE reading, but...

Oh wait, the Gospel I'm reading DOES say all that- feed the poor, be on the side of the oppressed, work for justice, and love your neighbor- hell, love your enemies, too!

Who knew?

reply

yup jesus would totally be a socialist now

reply

It is hard to have much sympathy for people who agreed to low pay because they are criminals. Socialism may have a global perspective, but once these janitors have their union offering bribes or sleeping with the manager won't be enough to get their relatives hired and their paperwork falsified.

Great. Interpretations of the bible on Imdb.com, to further political statements. Fantastic.
