How did Professor Hobby find David ?

He doesn't, the boy finds him. When they meet up the Doctor is ecstatic that the boy has managed to locate him on his own. The Doctor says the only thing he did was put the clue in the Dr Know machine as a guide. It's an indication that the emotional programming has worked somehow.
