Grew on me over time.

I was into robot sci-fi as a kid, but I wasn't ready for AI when I first watched it. I felt disappointed and just thought it was an ok movie. Now that I've gotten older I genuinely love it. It has grown on me for years. Just the thought of David sitting there for 2,000 years gives me goosebumps, especially the scene where the frozen remains of the World Trade Center are shown. It adds even more emotional power to the scene and the ending really gets me every time. It has turned into one of my favorite films now. It's one of those special gifts that took me years to appreciate. I love films like that.

I wasn't a huge fan my first viewing in theaters back when it came out...but over 3 viewings after that on dvd in the past I can see it as one of the best and most underrated films of all time. It's really all there.. what true love means.. it was Spielbergs Kubrick.

If this movie would have been released just a few months later they would have had to cut out the World Trade Center out of that scene.

I feel the exact same way. Only it didn't take me years. It only took a second viewing to truly appreciate this fantastic and absolutely heartbreaking movie. Every time I see it, it gets better and better. And I also cry harder and harder after each viewing. 😭😭😭😭

Yeah to put it in perspective, the same amount of time between today and when Jesus walked this earth is how long David is underwater, staring at the Blue Fairy. I wonder when Teddy's batteries finally gave out?
