Kitty--Spoilers for those who have not watched Season 6

So I'm rewatching this series for the third or fourth time (this time alongside my BF who has never seen it)...we are on season 6 and just passed the episode in which Kitty returns.

Does the way that episode went bother anyone else? Lois was 100% right and Abe/Stevie were wrong and out of line in the way they treated her. I hate that Lois apologized to Kitty at the end of the episode.

Do I think Kitty may have deserved some level of forgiveness eventually? Perhaps. But for her to be blindly accepted back in that way was just...wrong. She did something so unbelievably awful to Abe and Stevie and it grates on me to no end that the storyline seemed to support the notion that Lois was in the wrong.

The big moments are gonna come. You can't help that. It's what you do afterwards that counts.

Yeah, I've seen that episode many times. I tend to agree with that little old man and his speech about forgiveness, etc. I mean, at the end of the day, it doesn't concern Lois whether or not Abe and Stevie allow Kitty back into their lives. However, I too find what she did to be absolutely terrible. Abe and Stevie forgave her way too quickly; they were just so lost and dysfunctional without her.

See, I kind of disagree with that.

Lois and Hal really stepped in while Kitty was off screwing around. They spent quality time (and I assume money that they didn't have) being there for Abe and Stevie, so I'd say the fact that Kitty was gone impacted them immensely and they are certainly entitled to an opinion over her being back. Her behaviour didn't just hurt Abe and Stevie, it also had an impact on others in their lives...like Hal, Lois and their children.

I do believe in forgiveness but I do not think Lois owed Kitty an apology. Abe owed Lois an apology and Kitty owed an apology to Lois, Hal, and their children.

I think Kitty likely did apologize to Lois' family, and her own (obviously). But it probably didn't mean much of anything because what she did was simply unforgivable to Lois (even Malcolm shares the same sentiment, he says something like "All she has to say is sorry?"). I don't think Lois owed an apology to Kitty, either. Abe was pretty much an idiot there. But again, at the end of the day, it was Abe and Stevie's decision to let her back into THEIR lives. She's Abe's wife, and Stevie's mother. If Lois no longer wanted to be friends with them for that, okay sure, she has the right to cut ties with them; but where the former is concered, she just doesn't have a say, IMO. She can have an opinion about it (which she does), but that's as far as it goes. In the end, Lois decides to respect Abe and Stevie's decision because she wants to be a supportive friend, no matter how much she may disagree.

While I agree that Hal and Lois (and Malcolm) stepped in for Abe and Stevie to lean on during the year Kitty was gone, but I doubt they spent any $$. Abe made more money than Lois and Hal and even though Kitty demanded alimony, I can't see Abe asking them to spend money or even accepting any.

I hated Kitty. She deserts her husband and physically and medically needy son? who does that? a selfish bitch, that's who!

Abe was a big teddy bear of a guy and successful! he is a total keeper.

Oh God. Fortune vomits on my eiderdown once more.
