What a pleasant surprise...

I just watched this movie on Sundance and it was amazingly well done. It's a very sad yet heartwarming movie, I really didn't expect it to be as good as it was. In fact I watched it really on accident, I had been waiting for something else to come on a different channel and this movie had just started so I watched a minute of it and decided to finish watching it. I'm pretty happy with my decision.

it was a good movie, but it could've been done better. i don't know how, but it didn't give me that "feeling".

This is virtually the same way I came across it.

I was watching Seinfeld re-runs, and I was pretty happy with it. Until the commercials on TBS kicked in, and I decided to click over to Sundance.

I ended up watching the whole thing, abandoning Seinfeld. Can't say I was disappointed with it, either.

Does anyone know if there are any clips of the movie online? I haven't seen it in awhile, and my sister took our copy of it. I really want to rewatch the scene with Tully and Ella driving in the cowfield at night, or the exchange between Earl and Tully Sr.

The movie is now on YouTube.
I actually bought the DVD because Amazon kept recommending it for some reason. And yep, count me as a fan! The short story is also great!

I agree. It was a very well done film. As you say, sad yet heartwarming, a story about the folks who are the backbone of this great nation.
