This movie is terrible

A whodunit with no suspense and cliched characters. The acting is pretty good but there seems to be a lack of direction between the characters. Scenes are sometimes awkward and the plot plays out at a snail's pace. Everything ends just as you think it will after watching for 10 minutes.

I personally, would have to disagree. I did not think the movie terrible. Granted, it was cliched at times, but what movies are not these days? From what I heard, they were given a limited budget to work with, and I think that can prevent a lot too. Thankfully, the cast carried it off wonderfully, in my opinion. Jonathan Jackson's character of Seth really creeped me out...and I will admit to being ready to crawl out of my own skin at times...even if it was your typical scary-movie antics. But the fact that this, like so many more movies these days was more of a psychological thriller that tended to play with the mind, though somewhat predictible, still kept me second guessing even at the best of times...and I'm somewhat good at figuring out 'whodunits' as they are otherwise so called. I do agree with you totally on the acting...without the cast, this movie would have failed miserably...I did not even know about it until it hit the video store shelves on DVD, then I couldn't get a copy. But then again, these days...so many movies are following that route, a short to practically non-existent theater run, then success in DVD and video sales; sometimes to be followed with a re-release later on, sometimes not.

One thing I know for certain, whether we all agree or disagree...the best movie critics of all are the fans of movies. If you go to a movie just to critique it, you forget how to enjoy it. (That's my theory anyway, because if a critic hates a movie, I'm usually bound to enjoy it, with VERY few exceptions, LOL). Take care... hope you didn't mind me sharing my point of view.

"Scenes are sometimes awkward and the plot plays out at a snail's pace."

Verrry slow and boring, doesn't help when it's stretched out to last 2hrs on CourtTv.

At some parts the son reminded me of Macauley Caulkins character in "The Good Son", manipulating adults, acting odd...just the whole vibe.

I really enjoyed this movie. The performances were brilliant especially Jonathan Jackson's. It did seem a bit cliched, but it was still a suspenseful and eerie film.

I liked it enough to give it 5/10, but it's a very disappointing film with extremely awkward direction and some major gaps in pacing. Treat Williams makes any film worth watching, but this is the weakest film of his I've seen.
