How did Goodman's Michael land Lisa?

One thing I always wondered is how Michael (when played by John Goodman) landed Lisa in the first place. Such a beautiful woman, and if anyone has seen Margaret Collins from stuff she did in the 80's..WOW. So I guess personality really can go a long way. Haha

I know a ton of women who would go for John Goodman or the character Michael. Personality, yes. "Good-looking" men become ugly with ugly personalites. "Unattractive" men become good-looking with great personalities. But John Goodman is not unattractive. He's very heavy, yes, but that's only one aspect. He has a beautiful face, endearing mannerisms, looks incredibly huggable, and tall. A lot of women like big men. He also comes off as a gentleman. That goes a long, long way!

look at some of John's pre-Rosanne work... while he was never a candidate for Chippendales, but he certainly wasn't chopped liver as they say
