Did Josh Hartnett enjoy making this?

I've just been reading in another thread that he was contractually obliged to do this picture to fulfil a 3-picture deal. Taking into account that the location, the budget and the accent, it just strikes me as the kind of film that, if you didn't want to be doing it, would be sheer HELL. I wonder if he had a good time? I'm PERTURBED.
