A nurse is not a Physician lite!

A couple of threads touched on this. One was how any normal decent person could bash somebody for being a nurse. The other about Pam's need to know that Greg considered med school enough to take the MCATS.

What bothers me as a nurse is this moronic idea that a nurse is a lessor version of or a light version of an MD. Therefore a smart ambitious nurse should naturally aspire to be a doctor. That is nonsense.

Nursing and medicine are different professions. Very few nurses "go for the MD".

It is also totally sexist and backwards to think that nursing is mainly for women and medicine is for men.
