One thing drove me nuts

Great performances by one and all, but what drove me up the wall is that 14 frigging years later, she hasn't changed the locks in her house and the guy can just use his key and wander in any time, day or night - unless she didn't lock her doors, which I find highly unlikely.

Every time he showed up I almost yelled at her to call a locksmith.

It may have been one of those movie devices to add sinister air to him, as in a write-up on the real story, during her divorce from him, she called the cops as she thought she was poisoned. He even admitted it, she didn't press charges, and yet she kept up a relationship?

The way I viewed it was in some ways she still depended on him. I have fought chronic pain and illness for over 18yrs or so and after awhile you accept help. She mentions spending many months in bed and during that time she had to accept help. You feel rude turning help away. So while she was annoyed at his pop ins and controlling ways she was just use to it after so many years. Plus she says she needed the child support money. Stopping him may have made him not paying.

I honestly think he made her depend on him. I haven't seen this in years and half way through it now but I'm guessing he is still poisoning her at times this way she has to depend on him.

That is just the message I got from it.
