It basically means that these bohemians, these left wing radicals, really are at heart, very moralistic. The REAL radicals are the right wing nuts who would sell their grandmother for a dollar. Bohemians want peace, to get along, to be nice to others, etc
Seems as though the polarity on that has shifted. It's the left now that is most certainly radical (or dumb, I haven't yet figured out whether they actually know what they're doing to the species), and the right that just wants to be left alone.
