reply

jealousy..

because Jessica Alba is in it.

and the better job she does acting the more they are required to hate.

Females hate her for how good she looks.

Males hate her for how ugly their wife/girlfriends look in comparison.

that about sums it up.

reply

Oh my gosh, that almost made me spit up my drink, "males hate her for how ugly their wife/girlfriends look..." She is indeed a pretty lady! I haven't seen the movie yet, waiting for it in the mail.

reply

You are obsessed with Jessica Alba and need help. I really hope that you are not a stalker of hers. Your account name is about here and I looked at your posting history and 99% of them about her. Also, your reason for why people don't like this film is because she is too hot/good looking and not because of the script, acting, etc... I liked the movie (which is why I came to its IMDB page) and I also like a few other films with Jessica Alba, but you need some serious help. There is more to movies and to life than Jessica Alba. Who cares if people do not like her, who cares if people think she is a poor actress, who cares if people think she is unattractive... Everyone in this world is entitled to their own opinions and there will always be more than one perspective about every aspect of this world. You need to accept this truth and move on with your life... not hers.

reply

Craig, I sympathize with your braindead, feminized generation and how you think internet message boards are serious business or something to get emotional over. I can plainly see that you've caught feelings over something as trivial and pointless as my username and posting history on IMDb.

reply

BTW I was browsing here because I just saw Awake last night for only the second time, it really is a great movie and every actor involved does a great job. I'm very impressed - moreso then when I first saw it - and especially with Jessica Alba's performance, she's the gem in this feature that pulls it all together and makes it work. Terrance Howard was really great too, i never really liked him as an actor before this.

The work that went into a movie and whether it is good or bad is now determined by who is just jealous of Jessica Alba.
I guess film critics are out of a job.

I thought it was an okay movie. Good entertainment, which is all I ask. The actors did a good job most of the time, though they struggled at the weak points of the film. I think people could've forgiven the ridiculous scenes in the hospital if they'd been better directed, but the studio made a mistake by allowing the writer to direct the film. Frankly, the hospital scenes were more like a TV movie than a Hollywood blockbuster.

reply

Personally, I liked it, yeah, it was full of plot holes, but it was never intended to be an Oscar or Golden Globe contender. It was entertaining and suspenseful, I love Hayden, I thought he did a really good job with what he had to work with, ie. the story line and afore mentioned plot holes. And I thought Jessica did a really good job as well. I think mostly people that bash on it are Hayden haters that blame him for "ruining" SW, and well, we all know how people feel about Jessica.

reply

I didn't mind it, I actually bought a copy of it-one of those movies that does not require alot of thinking but for what it is an enjoyable watch, although the plotholes were a bit silly my major problem was that the whole twist was known before the movie was released. Don't know alot about Jessica but I thought she played the wolf pretty well.

reply

Easy because for some reason people think it is cool to diss this movie. No it's not as good as a True Romance or Good Will Hunting but it's a lot better than people give it credit for.

Be open minded people.

reply

Jealousy of Hayden, probably. He's good-looking, and he had it all handed to him at a young age, and he handles it all with great coolness. He's no Laurence Olivier, but, come on, who would you rather look at?

reply

I think you hit the nail on the head, I also believe that's where a lot of the animosity toward Hayden comes from, he's an amazingly handsome man with impeccable manners and he has a real sense of grace about him. Good call.

reply

Thank you. And you are correct too, about the manners and grace. He absolutely handles himself extremely well.

reply

"Jelousy of Hayden"? If that were the case then any actor who is remotely good-looking wouldn't be liked. The truth is he's a talentless actor who got a lucky break mainly due to his physical attributes rather than any acting skills.....of which he has absolutely none."...and don't point your fooking tenticles at me!"

reply

No, not ANY actor who is remotely good-looking, just any SUCCESSFUL actor who is good-looking and gets lucky. The fact that you call him "talentless" shows that you have some kind of prejudice against him, because in spite of his youth and relative inexperience, it is doubtful that the people who produce the huge, expensive "Star Wars" films would risk hiring a "talentless" actor, no matter how good he looks.

reply

I liked Hayden since star wars, I liked Jessica since Dark Angel, and Terrance Howard since he was on that wb sitcom. And I like the actor from Hackers even though his name escapes me right now. I've been liked these actors.

I didn't like this story. The main character is under the entire movie. There's wasn't any one person who was very active in this movie. Except for Jessica Alba, but we didn't want her to succeed so there was no anti-Jessica for this story.

Sure there were people who were trying to figure out what was going on. And that was the whole movie, everyone trying to figure out what's going on in the most boring way possible.

There wasn't any action or suspense. It was he'll either wake up or he won't it didn't really draw me in. The story didn't make me feel like this was something that could happen to me or someone I know. It just was.

Great actors, not an interesting movie.

You like to think you're never wrong.

I'm a huge Star Wars fan since my sister took me to see ep4 in '77. But to believe George Lucas has genuine skill regarding directing or casting is showing your ignorance. There's no doubt he's one of the most influential film makers of modern times, and his imagination and vision is breathtaking (first film maker to use digital format for a major motion picture). But Hayden couldn't act dead if cast as a corpse. I think your sexual fantasies are clouding your judgement."...and don't point your fooking tenticles at me!"

reply

...and you, of course, are a completely objective observer. Uh-huh. And as far as showing ignorance goes, I would not go too far out on that limb if I were you.

reply

I think people forget that movies are suppose to be entertainment. If you're taking a movie very literally than that's a problem.

The other reason is because of who the leads are. This movie was really good, better than most, and above all entertaining.

It's easier to critique than create.

reply

I didn't hate the movie. There were some good elements, but I thought it was corny.

A man is awake while his chest is carved open, his sternum sawed in half and his ribs cranked apart. (Frankly, the suspense during that part of it was good.) Then, he "forgets" the pain by thinking of his beloved. "Get me through this, Sam!" Corny & ridiculous. He would have been out of his mind with agony & probably gone into shock and died on the table.

reply

^THIS^

It's especially severe when they pull Clay's heart out of his chest, and he's awake through it. That sounds like Medieval torture, to me.

Go rob a house, *beep*

reply

I didn't hate it, but it still sucked.

reply

I like the movie, I find the plot interesting, the directing ok. The problem is that they hired 2 of the worst Hollywood actors to play the leads. And big surprise: the acting was AWFUL. They deserved all the Razzie nominations they got for this movie.
