I took a leak in the same Drive In washroom in Tupelo, MS that Elvis took a leak in. They have great chocolate shakes, too.

Thats amazing, were you overcome with a feeling of whimsy and a desire to help mankind?

Agree the bathroom wasn't nice at all. And what was with that Amelie shrine they had in there?

I visited a few years ago, I found it odd that Men and Women go to the same one, we don't really do that in the UK.

Also it was just a hole in the ground type toilet (First time in Paris).

Montmartre is a really nice area. Behind the Sacre Couer to the left it has loads of cobbled streets and nice cafes, galleries etc. Bit of a little bohemian area. Odd comment. I never went to Pigalle tbh but I don't think that is classed as Montmartre, its another area entirely.

I stayed in Pigalle for a week in 2004. Plenty of cheap hotels, and we had no problems on the street. It was funny to be in the grocery store with hookers on their way home in the mornings... but hey, everybody's gotta eat.

Was the same bathroom where Joseph and Georgette had sex? 

I didn't take a poop... just went number one. I did order some breakfast (I had just arrived from the USA) and crème brûlée. I broke it with a spoon before I ate it. After this, I went to Collignon's store and bought some Amelie postcards. Finally, I went to the train station where she walked the blind guy. I wanted to go to the sex shop, but it was still closed.

I had already visited the church and walked the steps up years before.

That would be a fun little vacation.

I did something similar in Rome. I went to most of the places shown in Angels and Demons. Didn't plan the trip specifically to do that, it just happened that way. I was reading the book on the flight over, and decided to do that. It turned out to be a great tour of Rome.
