Yeah, next up Watership Down goes to Pixar to make it into a 'nice little jokey number'. God, should that day ever come, I wont be paying a fiver just so I can sit in the cinema and get thrown out for throwing rocks at the screen.

reply

Depends how it's done. I prefer the characters to retain their personalities, but otherwise I don't care how bizarre the situation gets as long as it's convenient for the protagonists.

...Wait, what?

Pixar doesn't make fairytales or classic stories into movies. Nor do they make musicals. o__O

Mur?

reply

I could see Pixar doing really well with it, actually. They're a pretty amazing studio for 3D.

reply

Really, though, PIXAR wouldn't take on the project. Closest thing I can think of to a studio that would is the one that did happy Feet and is doing Legend of the Guardians. I would be way pumped if Pixar took this on, and aimed it at an adult audience.

I guess you are just too mature for the tv series about bunnies.

reply

C'mon, that's not fair the OP said they liked the movie, and that's about rabbits, too.

It is.

It's not very well put together and there's not a whole lot of depth to it.

If you feel like you have to watch it because you've read the book, don't. It's little more than glorified fanfiction: it's an almost completely different story, not much of an adaptation.

reply

I know what I'm talking about because I watched the whole thing. :)

I would be lying to you if I said there weren't lame aspects about the show, but the show overall really isn't as bad as it first comes off. Yes, there are some scenes that might make you want to shoot yourself, but there are also some really good scenes that are outside of the book/film material. If you can suspend your level of cynicism and look at is as, perhaps, a family-friendly retelling of the story, you might actually like it.

It has it's moments, at least. Not a total abomination.

reply

You know, the ending was actually way awesome.
