If it were to become a movie, how much money do you think it would make?

I think the show is okay. Since it's an action show with robots and evil charactars, I think it would make a decent amount of money. How much do you think it will make?

reply

Well...i'm not sure but if there were alot of fans the movie would bring in a
reasonable sum of cash.(Obviously)
Me being a really big fan would be the first in the line, but i really am not sure how many people like the show.
Actually, nobody in my school has ever heard of CyberSix before.
so I don't believe very many people would go to such a movie.
(if their ever is one)Heh.

Just check how much money I ROBOT would make. It's just like I.R., except it's the other way around. The robot is a good guy and the human is the bad guy. I don't think it would be a movie anytime soon because it's not a popular but alot of kids in my class heard of it, but sadly never watched it.

I had never heard of the comic book "Blade" until I saw that movie. It was a good movie and scored big at the box office. It even had a sequel. I also hadn't heard of "The League Of Extraordinary Gentlemen" (bad movie!), and "Hellboy" (good movie). Correct me if I'm wrong, but they both did well at the box office.

If an audience is waiting to see "Spider Man 3" and an ad for a live-action "Cybersix" movie comes up brand new (and the ad is sufficuently intriguing), it will pique people's interest. If a couple of name stars are attached, it could draw a crowd. Throw some decent publicity and rerun the series on American television, and you've got a chance at a big box office pull.

That being said, the movie would have to kick ass, or I'd smack it so hard...!

Well, I don't really care so much about how much money it would make so much as how well it would be made. Sam Raimi would be a good coice for director I think, except he's probably going to ba caught up with Spidey for the next 5 or 6 years at least. Not to mention, José could be extremely controversial because of the nature of his character, as I am sure the homophobes out there would object to the transvestite alter-ego thing. Hollywood has always been rather conservative. Look at how little money they gave to make the first X-Men movie. Still, I know that the more open-minded, artistic filmmakers and performers could and would do it beautifully. I think it would be a good idea to make it in Canada, Argentina or Europe as well. That could even mean not only more interesting collaborations, but also added financing to make it. BTW, what do you think of Carrie-Anne Moss in the lead? I think she would just be fantastic. :)

I think a studio could get around the Jose issue if they set a few boundaries. That he not actually wield weapons himself, that sort of thing. James Cameron said he conciously never had Edward Furlong use a weapon other than his mind in T2, as not to offend anyone. I think an audience will except an evil child genius as long as his minions do the dirty work. I doubt that in a world where Martin Lawrence and two Wayans brothers can dress up as women (Big Momma & White Chicks) and NOT get flack, that anyone could take seriously that plot point (woman dressed as man). That said, it would be extremely difficult to pull off with a real live actress (dressing convincingly as a man). I can concede it for a comic or animated series, but I doubt it could be done live action (and has anyone seen the Argentinian live action version of this comic? Any comments on how they pulled it off?). I think a studio would be well-advised to head that plot point off at the pass and keep her a woman by day, only changing her appearance that way. It would avoid a whole lot of sticky issues. Of course, you'd have a Clark Kent variation (glasses = CK, no glasses = Superman), but modern audience have been innoculated against that and are willing to accept it for a superhero movie.
I think Carrie Anne Moss is an excellent actress, but I think she's a bit too old for the part (Cybersix is reported to be in her mid to late twenties, depending on who you talk to) and would be too close to portraying Trinity again (action hero in tight leather bodysuit). Casting against type might be wiser! Remember Michelle Pfieffer as Catwoman? People were kind of surprised by that (though it's taken for granted now) when it came out. Even Darryl Hannah in Kill Bill (particularly Vol. 2) was a bit of a nice surprise. I can't think of anyone off the top of my head, but I'll make a list (you may get freaked out by some of my choices).

Some quick points:

1. Cybersix is not a robot, she's a genetically-engineered being.
2. Jose is an adult in a kid's body, although you only get a vauge hint in the show when he yells "I am NOT a child!"

If a movie were to be made, I'd want it done right. The series is already toned down enough from the comics, I wouldn't want any more drastic changes. Having Cybersix pose as a woman during the day would absolutely KILL a good chunk of the plot, let's not pander to the censors.

Well considering they spent $1,000,000 (American) per episode.. A full length movie would also cost a pretty penny.

The plans at first were to make 26 episodes instead of 13, but at a lower production and quality cost. The producers decided to go for quality over quantity.

So in a way we pay the price of not seeing how the series ends (if she lives or not) but that's what the wonderful tool of fan-fiction is for.

Of course, with today's animation, it would probably be cheaper than it was then.

I feel that if a script adaptator were to look at three things combined; those 3 being: the live-action series, the animated series, and the comic series; then getting a good director would in fact make it a big deal for people, even those who are not fans of any of Cybersix's three incarnations.

A good director would also definitely be an asset, as well as some pretty well-known names, but not of people too big for their britches... For instance, I could easily see Cameron Bright as José (you will see him in UltraViolet from Sony pictures), some typically androgynous-looking actress as Cybersix/Adrian, and then from there, just people who resemble the other characters physically, big stars or not.

But, like I said, I feel it would make a killing in the box office. Especially now that movie-makers are running out of good ideas, and resorting to comics and graphic novels to create movies.

I saw this cartoon when I was about 10, and I don't quite think I got it, but I'm 13 now, and I read the review on this site. It looks pretty good, and I'm interested. If they were to make a live action movie, you could probably get a good idea of who would play Cybersix. Probably Milla Jovovich, she'd be the one they'd pick. Anyone have another idea of who they'd pick?
