Does anybody else find the live musical and dance performance that opens this film breathtaking?
I think it's spectacular. I bought the DVD just so I could have that. Still, there is something about this film as a whole that I really like! I love the simplicity and beauty woven through this film. I feel as if I am seeing a culture that is difficult for outsiders to aproach from the inside.

I bought the DVD too, but I enjoy the music better when I hear it while watching the film. As for your question about the opening act of the film, I ended up watching it over and over again...
