It's all very silly so I wouldn't normally ask... but why was Jason just ignored in that facility?

I haven't seen the few movies before so don't know how Jason came to be in that prison place. As far as I can tell he escapes, gets frozen, and nobody ever comes to investigate. Why is the whole place just left alone? Does society end at the same time or something?
