Brad Pitt, he´d be the perfect choice. He´s too old for the part on paper, but he´s still looking young enough. Too expensive for the producers I´m afraid.
They either have to rewrite the story from scratch or could retell the millenium hysteria in a satiric way.
I hope they stick with the original beginning. Stobbart´s voice over and the raven´s flight over Paris. Could look impressive with CG and skillful camerawork.
Q: What elements of the first game would you keep, revamp or take out entirely. Which elemnts would you add to the story.
Brad Pitt? I think I'd have to disagree. He could very well resemble George visually if characterised properly, but his personality would betray the character. I think more than a lookalike, they need to find someone who has that same mode of sarcastic delivery and romanticism that Rolf Saxon brought into the story.
Other than that, I think projects like this should let new, young and emerging actors have a chance. This, of course, could work to the film's detriment, but personally I am against reusing Hollywood stars ad infinitum just because they're well known and bring in the money. A project like this deserves more than a quick grab for cash.
I do like your idea of the original beginning with the raven's flight over Paris. This accompanied by an arrangement of the same music [or a variation] for a bigger orchestra could have stellar results. IT goes without saying that they should use the same composer. I love the music in that game.
Eva Green could be a good choice for Nico. Jean Reno is the obvious #1 candidate for Inspecteur Rosso. He already starred in THE DA VINCI CODE but Fache is a different enough character IMO, so he could portray him anyway.
John Goodman would really be great. And Jean Reno would be perfect, too. For Nico, I think Audrey Tautou could be good. But she is maybe not able, to play that sarcastic character of Nico. Maybe Rachel Weisz would be better. For George, I already thought of Thomas Gibson (the Greg from Dharma and Greg). But there must be a better choice. I guess a younger James Spader would have been just great. But well...
I always thought Denis Leary would be the perfect George Stobbart. As for Nico, Audrey Tautou is a great choice (I was actually thinking a black haired Franka Potente, but Audrey would be better now that I come to think of it).
I like who said josh halloway, but lookinh at lost he just seems to scruffy for me lol, i also thought matt damon but as if he would do it, he has the sort of sacarstic thing going, see oceans series
Jean reno is a giving for the policemen forget his name i actually though Drew Carrey for dwayne Kathy Bates for Pearl Lady pearmont possibly professor sprout from harry potter or the the chick from dial m for murder and miss potsf rom beauty and beast Audrey tatou i agree would be good but i doubt she would do it and don't think she could deliver it, there must be someone else
I also had the same sorta idea for the start if they kept that, it would be awesome. i think the hardest thing about the movie is cutting out the picking up of all the objects and the boring bits. just a question where does george put the sewer key when his walking around. its things like that need to be considered.
I just finished angel of death today and discovered that they are making a movie, and i have been thinking of how they could do it long before hand. if they do I CAN'T FREAKING WAIT
honestly though. theres only one person for george (and this is my favourite game of ALL time, and i know this actor will bring him justice) and that is aaron eckhart. hes the only person i can actually see using george's quirky remarks. although paul rudd could pull it off perhaps.
inspecter moo - lee evans dwayne - dan ackroyd oh man, ive forgotten all the characters, im gonna have to go play the game again
"There's no I in team, but there's an I in Pie, Meat pie".
I think Hugh Laurie has the ideal personality to play George, especially with how he play Gregory House in House MD, the sarcastic quick wit and quippy one liners are perfect, too bad he doesn't look like George though.
Lorelai: What time is it? Luke: Early. Lorelai: Hate early. Must kill early.
Though I'm not a big fan of Brendan Fraser, when I saw what he looked like and sounded like in the Journey to the Centre of the Earth trailers, I immediately thought of Goerge Stobart. He looks, and sounds, pretty much like I imagined Stobart to be, but I think that his acting style doesn't really suit the part.
maybe its just me, but i think edward norton would be good as george. they may not look alike, but i think he'd play the role well. and i also hope they keep the thought tracks.
George is meant to be skinny and getting bigger every game (in the third one Nico teases George when he can't squeeze through a vent the way he used to).
What age is George meant to be in the first game anyway?
My vote for:
George: I am intrigued by the possibility of Aaron Eckhart.
Nico: I'd cast my vote for Olga Kurylenko (the foreign bird from HITMAN) or maybe Clemence Posey (Fleur Delacour in Harry Potter).
Russo: Jean Reno.
Andre: Guy Pearce
Dwayne: Drew Carey
Pearl: The fat lady from Drew Carey with all the make-up.
The Killer guy with the scar (I forget his name): Ralph Fiennes maybe?
I think Noah Wyle would be great too but he already did the librarian films and they were essentially a cross between broken sword and indiana jones. I won't comment on how good they were lol but would he take such a similar role? And would anyone involved in the casting want him on the basis that he may be familiar to audiences in a similar character... same problem with Brendan Frasier. However... since nothing much seems to be going on with direction/ production or casting and right now it just seems that the film is part of the grand plan... things seem to be very 'early days'. In the meantime i'm just gonna have to get excited for the wii/ ds editions.
I believe the world spins for you - we will never be - I am the moon.
The way George has been drawn in all four games, I've always thought he was a dead ringer for actor A. J. Trauth, who was Louis's friend Twitty on Disney's "Even Stevens." The way he looked on that show, especially with his hair parted in the middle, was exactly like George, right down to the facial structure. That was a teen show, but it was back in 2000, so by now he's old enough to play George.
George just finished his law degree and went to paris on vacation before he starts work (is the way i always saw it) so, he's about 26 years old, everybody listed seems to be over 40.

Some really good suggestions for actors/actresses on here. Will the film definitely be focussed on the first film? I hope so, as it was my favourite in the series (although the 2nd one has grown on me). I remember Cecil speaking how he wanted the player to become emotionally involved with the game and this is still the only game to this day where I truly warmed to the characters and became emotionally attached to them. A film of this would be a dream come true! Still, not heard much since it was first announced, going to keep my fingers crossed though. Anyway, i digress...
GEORGE: Aaron Eckhart, for me, is too old to play the part. I think Josh Holloway (again, a bit old) would pull it off really well. Other possibilities... Ryan Gosling or perhaps even Hayden Christensen?
NICOLE: I feel Audrey Tatau again maybe looks too old and is perhaps comes off as too frail looking to play Nicole? Olga Kurylenko I think would be well suited, however the first name that came to mind for me was Marion Cottilard. Also, maybe Rachel McAdams.
As for the other roles, I am not sure who will be in it but soon as I hear which characters are confirmed, I will be straight back on the boards!
I can't see it.... A.J. Trauth looks nothing like George, in any of the games. Perhaps a 12 year old version of George, but he just doesn't have the right features - he's too.... soft looking?
