Any other adventure games worth checking out?

I have always loved these games; Grim Fandango, the first 3 monkey island games and the broken sword games are an incredible genre that have sadly become more or less obsolete, but occasionally you can find some being made here and there.

Since Discworld Noir though i havent been able to find anything worthy of playing. The new Monkey Island games dont really interest me after number 4 destroyed the humour and Guybrush's character altogether. So what older games would you reccomend i play? and Are there ANY games being made at the moment that are logical and entertaining and dont treat the player like an imbecile by giving hints here there and everywhere?

Just so there is no repeating, i have played the following:

Monkey island 1-4
Beneath a steel Sky
Flight of the Amazon Queen
Broken Sword trilogy
Discworld Noir
Day of the Tentacle
Sam and Max Hit the Road
Full Throttle
Dracula Origins (blah)
Simon the Sorcerer
The Dig (onever finished, i lost the disc :( )
Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis
Lure of the Temptress
Fable (not the xbox game)

Anything at all worth checking out?

Impressive list.

How about a few classics to add ;-)

Blade Runner (from Westwood)
Gabriel Knight 1 (Sins of the fathers) - 2 (The Beast Within) - 3 (Blood of the Sacred, Blood of the Damned)
X-files the game

First 2 listed hold a special place in my heart and memory.

If you like action adventure games as well, you might want to go for Outcast.

Ah blade Runner i have played and i adore it. Completely forgot about it, though to be fair you can actually complete most of the game without really solving any puzzles hehe. Have to check out Gabriel Knight.

A few other gems:

- Syberia 1 & 2 (not as good as the old adventure games but still, beautiful scenery and story)
- the longest journey (epic)and dreamfall (not as good as its predecessor but still)
- I don't see Tex Murphy in your list either ;-)

Enjoy mate, I think that list will tide you over for quite a while :)

Snatcher (Sega CD) and Policenauts (PS1), from Hideo Kojima (the creator of Metal Gear Solid). Two of the finest detective/point and click/adventure style games ever. They really are a must play for those who enjoy this genre of games. Check Snatcher out first, you'll need the Gens emulator and a copy (or ISO) of Snatcher for the Sega CD.
