Moonshot recipe?

The Moonshot drink in this movie is described as 2 shots Vodka, 1 shot Brandy and blend of TripleSec and Grenadine. Yet every drink recipe source I have found has a completely different recipe of gin, clam juice and tobasco. Any ideas? Or was this just a plot device?
