I've just seen it.
more bitter, more sweet?
what do you think about this one?

reply

I felt it reflected the struggle to maintain a way of life against change. Like the scene where the son was thinking of hopping on the bus. That symbolized change yet in the face of that, thefather maintains that the traditional way is better.

I found it more sweet than bitter. I think it showed that life for this man was his occupation, and the son was enlightened on who his father was by journeying with him. But at the same time we were also able to learn how important his son was to him, all through the playing out of the routine that was the mail delivery. No big dramas or philosophical chats; the characterisation all came from the progression of the journey/job.

It also illustrated the transition between young and old, the changes in each generation. eg. the radio.

I enjoyed it.
