My Review - In the Weeds

I just got done watching this great cast ensemble movie "In the Weeds", and it's a great film, and a lot of familiar faces, including one guy (Joshua Leonard), who looks like the lead singer of SICK PUPPIES, (Shimon Moore), but turns out he was the guy from "The Blair Witch Project" in 1999, he has a big resume of films now, and the way he looks in the film, reminds me of Tom too, because he has thinning blonde hair, and wears glasses like Tom does, but a little thinner in the face. Once you see the film, you'll see the resemblance. I almost thought it was him from Sick Puppies.

Actress Ellen Pompeo (Martha) in the film reminds me of both actress Lindsay Lohan and Renee Zellweger. She has that charm and look to her like Renee Zellweger does.

Molly Ringwald stars as (Chloe), and her character and Martha have many scenes together, and they both have big parts. I think Molly does a great job in this film, and it was good to see her in a bigger role, than the previous films I have seen her in, besides the 80's films.

And Actor Michael B. Silver , looked familiar, so I looked him up, and came across that he was the guy from "Jason Goes to Hell", who played Luke - Boy Camper. He has made a string of tv appearances, less films than I would expect looking at his resume, but I knew I remembered his face somewhere. He plays Waiter Marlon in the film.

Plot:
A swanky New York City restaurant is a microcosm of the city in Michael Rauch's refreshingly irreverent romantic comedy. Adam (Joshua Leonard) and Chloe (Molly Ringwald) are a waiter and waitress struggling to find success in the Big Apple, while working in the restaurant among their friends. They and their co-workers hash out their personal lives while trying to make ends meet. "In the Weeds" serves up in a delicious slice of the single life, complete with thrills, laughs, heartache and everything in between.

The actress who plays the Restaurant greeter/Host, reminds me of my 18 year-old niece Belladonna, who I can see in a job such as this role.

I really liked it, well acted, directed, photographed, and it has the feel and style like that other film 'Since You've Been Gone", which also has a cameo by Molly Ringwald; but this film takes place in a New York Restaurant. There is a lot of drama with the waiters, waitresses, customers, kitchen staff, cook, and one waiter, I think it is Marlon, well this one customer, who is with his wife is unsatisfied with his glass of soda, he wants a few cubes of ice, so Marlon generously, takes his cup away to give him his requested ice, so what does Marlon do, he throws the cubes of ice quickly in his mouth, spits back into the glass of soda, adding more soda, and serves the glass to the customer, and says "Here you go sir, five cubes of ice!, just as you requested!" or something like that, and he takes a sip from the glass. There is also a plot story about a missing ring, that was supposed to be placed in a desert, but comes up missing, while this one guy wants to use it to propose to his fiance, after i guess she finds it while eating, but it ends up missing, and hell breaks loose.

It is a fun slice of life in a swanky New York City Restaurant, the relationships and friendships that develop, and drama that ensues with everybody. I wouldn't mind owning this movie on DVD if I saw it, great film. You should see it. I highly recommend it. -Tim
