Mira Sorvino was perfect
While this version of the story tended to drag at times, I thought Mira Sorvino's portrayal of Daisy was perfect. She caught the basic decency of the character trapped by her own spoiled upbringing and social status into a sensibility that he knew to be shallow and unfulfilling but was unable to escape. Like Gatsby, she was damaged goods--conscious of her inadequecy, yet unable to escape the intrinsic flaws of character that identified her. It was a beautiful performance.
