warning: opening credits give it all away (SPOILER)

If you don't want the ending spoiled for you, don't show this until AFTER you have finished the ENTIRE book.

The exact same footage of Gatsby's death is shown twice - at the climax AND during the opening credits sequence.

Strange choice - I wonder who made it. (the director, the writer, etc.)

Not a big surprise, didn't you read the book in high school or college even? Didn't think they would change the story did you?

1. Gee thanks for putting the spoiler itself in your own post.

2. It's indicative of this production's sloppiness that right after showing that scene we here Nick's narration: "Gatsby turned out alright in the end."

1. Gee, I typed the word "spoiler" in all capital letters in my heading. Too subtle?

2. I agree that this was not the production that it could have been. The acting was better than the Redford version, but this one was just kind of ... bland.

Wow, I could not disagree more. I can't think of a way in which the 1974 version is not better than this one.
