It's actually a really good coming of age story. All these dancers in their late teens/early twenties trying to find themselves, deal with personal problems, and try to make their dreams happen. This is a really good movie and so underrated.
shareI liked the movie Dancers better--not for the story but for all the scenes from Giselle! It was beautifully danced by Baryshnikov, Alessandra Ferri, Leslie Browne, and Victor Barbee. Vivian Durant from the Royal Ballet has a short scene in which she describes what her miming (as Giselle's mother) means. And Tommy Rall, who was a dancer and Ann Miller's love interest in Kiss Me Kate is in it too.

I agree. This came on last night. Damn-good film. It indeed seems to be quite underrated. A terrible movie also pertaining to dance came out only a year after this one did. I won't even say its name.
But this one was very good.
I'm not a control freak, I just like things my way
