Pink Floyd and Chrono Trigger relation

Has anyone noticed that the beginning of the trial music in Chrono Trigger sounds a lot like the beginning part of the Pink Floyd song The Trial? I think the relation is not a coincidence.

Wait, what?

Please notify me of any typos up there and of course..."Go Don't Doing It Again!"

Hmmm... Wow... Wow... does anyone know which came out first? (I have a big hunch but totally dont want to believe it)

The trail is from Pink floyd's album The Wall which was released in 1979/1980.
There is a movie it's on this website it has the year mentioned in the info and that should be enough info.
I am actually a big fan of Pink Floyd and well a lot of times certian songs remind me of Final Fantasy.
So it could be true that the music of Pink Floyd may have had some influence on Nobuo Uematsu.

Nice, I was beginning to think I was the only one who found them similar. My brother thinks I'm crazy.

Crap that really pisses me off. (Prefer Chrono Trigger million time than Floyd) But still its just a bit similar and CT still has some of the best music in the world.

(Yes yes Floyd fans, i know that Floyd made some of the best music blablabla.)

No idea is original. Maybe Yasunori(was it him who wrote this piece?) is a fan of Pink Floyd.

Hmm.. The trial is probably my favourite song in the game, perhaps I will check these "Pink Floyds" out. ^^

i heard somewhere he's a fan of ELP (and you can tell in some of his music with those emerson-esque keyboard lines). maybe he's a fan of pink floyd too...

It's funny...

I have actually started playing the game for the 1st time recently (I just got to the Kingdom of Zeal), and I thought the same exact thing when I saw the trial.

I actually found this thread while google-ing to see if anyone else thought there was a connection, or if I was just "crazy, toys in the attic, I am crazy."

You have put my mind at ease.

this is one of my favorite games of all time(a few others are ff6, eternal darkness: sanity's reqiuem, and zombies ate my neighbors) they seem to have quite a few references to music and musicians. of course, there's ozzy, flea, and slash. i've also noticed a character is named fiona. i suspect she's named after fiona flanagon.

I'm glad somebody else noticed this. Just saw The Wall again tonight, and I couldn't believe the similarity between the two songs. I think Uematsu, or whoever did Chrono Trigger, definitely had The Wall in mind when he wrote that. Crazy!
