You almost wonder if there isn't a story behind the story when a gem not only disappears, but there also seems to be a dedicated effort to burying it. Perhaps a key player crossed the wrong exec? Still shocking that it wasn't put on DVD and given to a place like Amazon to sell worldwide.
There is another show, a UK mini-series from 1983 about computer fraud and the banking industry called "The Consultant" which makes Breaking Bad look morally correct and upbeat, and it showed up 25 years earlier. I can't spoil it because I am certain that none of you will ever see it, but the show ends with a fade to black as the protagonists insert their virus into the megabank's mainframe, thus guaranteeing them an 18,000 pound payout every week. Could you imagine the uproar if Walter White just drove off with $77M in blue barrels in the back of a pickup truck as the screen went dark? I saw it once on A&E and it seems like it has all but disappeared from the planet, perhaps because like Ferris Bueller, it could give good kids bad ideas.
