Queen Kari

I own the first four seasons and all the movies, but I have always wondered why in the episode "Crest of Light" many digimon call Kari "Queen Kari"I would like to hear any theories anybody has, I have my own theory? I am not telling my theory unless somebody responds. I also don't want to be flamed. I would like to point out that even though the numemon could just be calling her a queen because she freed them, Kari never acts surprised by the title or anything else in the digiworld, also when Tai and Izzy mention Kari's name to Andromon he also refers to her as "Queen Kari." This is never mentioned after that episode neither is why only she could hear the voice of the bodiless entity that told the digidestined about the past of the digital world during the battle between Wargreymon and Metalgurumon or why again in "Crest of Light" she glows (something that surprises everybody else) and she seems to understand the digital world better than anybody else. Finally season 2 is my favorite season and takari is my favorite couple I don't care if you disagree with either of these things don't criticize me for liking them.

Tai mentions that until and during the battles with Machinedramon Kari seems to always have had a very altruistic personality and judging by some of her actions (surrendering to Myotismon in hopes he would stop harming others if he had her prisoner, also even though some of these things may not have been good ideas she also didn't tell Tai or the others that she was feeling sick and in the next episode "The Crest of Light" she frees the enslaved Numemon with at most help from Gatomon in the same episode she glows for most of it and it seems she can give the Numemon as well the partner digimon close to her more energy) in season 2 she admits to Yolie that she tried to do to much by herself which I think was her way saying though well meaning she shouldn't have done all those things that but her in danger without asking for help. Also I think (unless you have seen the Japanese version and this isn't true in it do not criticize my theory) in her first appearance she mentions that she knew the gateway to the Digiworld was near the camp and has said she has been to it nor do any appearances of the digimon appearing on Earth or in the Digiworld or anything about the Digiworld surprise her in fact she seems to understand it better than the other kids. I think some time before the events of the season likely when her parents signed her and Tai up for the camp she gets close to the gateway and lands on File Island and befriends a large group of Numemon, Andromon and probably others I also think because of her altruistic personality they make her a queen an let her make important decisions thinking she would do what is best for everyone rather than just herself. I think she could have been in the Digiworld for years but because of the accelerated flow of time nobody would realize she was gone and come back to Earth same day she left I don't know how she would come back to Earth but I think it happened naturally over time.

She hadn't been in the digital world before. She didn't know she had a digivice. Why it was under her bed, I don't know. When Gatomon/Tailmon showed her the digivice she asked what it was. She wasn't surprised by the Digimon because when she was little a digiegg came out of the computer. Soon after the egg hatch it was a baby digimon that after eating what Hikari/Kari gave him, he evolved into Koromon. While in bed Koromon evolved into Agumon. Although Agumon doesn't say his name. (The Agumon they met at that time is the the same Agumon that is Taichi/Tai partner.) Hikari/Kari climbed on his back and the jump off the balcony of the apartment. Later Agumon evolved into Greymon. (In the Japanese version Greymon doesn't say his name and Hikari/Kari still called him Koromon. While the American version Greymon does say his name.) Agumon evolved into Greymon during the fight with another digimon. After the fight both digimon disappeared and Hikari/Kari was the only one remember the whole thing clearly while the other forgot and only started to remember when they came back to the real world looking for the 8th child. I assume she was called Queen Kari because freed them from their chains and her light that they felt/seen coming from her gave them hope.

You are entitled to your opinion but don't criticize mine. I don't remember if I said this before but in the episode "The Crest of Life" Andromon when he heard the name Kari he says "you mean Queen Kari is your sister" another reason why I think she could I have been to the Digiworld before (I am not saying that she definitely was just it is a possibility) is nothing about it surprises her if nothing else she seems to understand it better than any of the other kids. Also towards the end of the season we learn from Gennai that the group of five kids that preceded the season one kids were summoned by the earlier digimon who presumably helped the kids battle this ancient evil we do not know if these kids had digivices or how or why they were chosen but according Gennai it was the digimon who brought them to the digiworld so I don't they had digivices at least not to begin with. Also in the episode where we first learn of the Dark Ocean even though it was for a selfish reason the shadowy creatures brought Kari to it that had nothing to do with her having a digivice neither did her bringing T.K., Patamon, and Gatomon to it, I know this wasn't the digital world but in these cases it is proven that digivices are not necessarily needed to travel to different dimensions also when dealing with genuinely evil, and by that I mean creatures that are evil without something influencing them Ken could leave because the dark spore controlled him and he was manipulated into becoming the Digimon Emperor and I imagine when that Airdamon is reborn it will be in the Digiworld because it was controlled by the dark ring where as I don't think the natives of that world or Daemon or any evil Digimon like it is implied Devimon was reborn on that world can never leave this world once they are on it. Another thing I don't know if this happens in the original version but Tai asks her if she has a digivice she says doesn't think so and asks what it is and when he shows it to her she says no also the digivice isn't always under her bed the next time we see it it is on the apartment balcony Niko knocks it off and many other animals find it before Wizardmon reveals the truth to Kari and Gatomon. Also the Agumon they meet before the main story isn't the same one that becomes Tai's partner the Agumon that is part of the main cast says so and most of the digimon who die and are reborn especially if they have a partner seem to remember their previous lives for example Angemon and Wormon both seem to remember the past. One more thing I have seen part of the Japanese version of The Crest of Light and the only thing I understood is the Numemon begin chanting her name when they see my point is how did they know what her name was if she hadn't been there before or at the very least had some special connection to the digiworld that the other kids didn't and don't say they knew her name because they heard T.K., Sora or the partner digimon because until she rescued the Numemon none of them were any where near the Numemon when they said her name.

I'm sorry if I offended you and came off as rude. You have your own right to have an opinion too. But I was just think that she hadn't been there before. I know the Agumon they met in the movie wasn't the same Agumon they met a few years later. But they did have the same name. So when Taichi/Tai came home the first time alone Hikari/Kari was able to call Koromon by the same name the first Koromon told her a few years back. As for how the Numemon knew Hikari/Kari name. They must have heard Tailmon/Gatomon say Hikari name while they were freeing the Numemon. Tailmon/Gatomon was only surprised that the Numemon were worshiping Hikari/Kari. Tailmon/Gatomon didn't seem surprise that they new Hikari/Kari name. Again I am really sorry that I offended you and came off as rude.

I figured Andromon was aware of Queen Kari because he somehow had gotten word that the Numemon were calling her that. After him referring to her as that name comes after the Numemon start calling her that. I just figured he had some sort of real time surveillance or communications system that allowed him to hear news from around the sewers.

To anybody who I offended I am sorry, but I said in at least one of my earlier posts I said I am not bothered by people not having the same opinion as me, but I do not want mine criticized. On a related note, I do not know if any of you know this but with a number of details are changed from the Japanese versions of some anime when it is dubbed (in my opinion this means some of the details are not always true in both versions) for example the relationships of some of the characters or the motives of an antagonist or what they intend to accomplish. Weird girl 222 I admit I overreacted a bit but you say you know the Agumon that Tai and Kari first meet is not the same one that is Tai's partner, your earlier post seems to say they are the exact same character. You may want to read it over cause this maybe a typo. I do not mean to sound like I am criticizing you.
I am not trying to start a debate but I do not support any couples unless I have seen evidence that both characters have romantic feelings for each other. To be clear I don't care if these couples are in movies, anime, manga, comic books, any other kind of books, and/or cartoons. The only couples or potential couples from the first two seasons I support are: especially T.K and Kari, Matt and Sora, also and this is to a lesser extent Ken and Yolie. You can disagree or agree with these couples but do not give me a hard time for liking them.
Finally all of you make valid points about why Kari has the title Queen for some reason only in the episode "Crest of Light". One of the reasons I don't think Queen is simply to mean respect is many of the villain leaders are referred to as Lord but rarely as a King or Queen. I agree that Kari's crest is special(I do not mean for this to sound like I am criticizing anyone) but at least according to Sora T.K.'s crest is special (do they ever explain what that means)and I don't remember him being called any special title. Regarding those two (T.K. and Kari)in my opinion they are possibly the most powerful of the heroes of the first and second season another thing is they seem to look for the most peaceful solution throughout the first season and most of the Digimon Emperor storyline(if you want examples of either just ask me). Again feel free to agree or disagree with me but do not criticize any thing have I have written. I am sorry if any of these sentences are very long or in unusual order but I have always had trouble with things like that.

My best guess: Hikari (Kari) Kamiya is the re-incarnation of Jesus himself.

Think about it:

1. Her initial presence in the show is ominous.
2. She remains sweet and innocent throughout.
3. She cares only about others, never herself.
4. She has a weak constitution and gets sick frequently.
5. Her crest is The Crest of Light (which isn't even a virtue, but rather an essence.)
6. A god-like entity constantly possesses her body though her crest, giving her divine powers of healing, strength and knowledge.
7. Every man, woman and Digimon falls instantly in-love with her, calling her Queen Kari and even asking for her hand in marriage.

I don't know about everyone else, but Kari is equal parts creepy as she is lovable. How the show never address her divine-like personality is beyond me... >_>

I never liked how Kari's voice changed during her Light Seizures. It became sort of... overly confident, almost 'royal'(fitting with this Queen Kari discussion). 'Let my light guide the way.' Stuff like that.

maybe my beef is with the voice actress/voice coacher's preference for how she ought to talk in this altered, more knowledgeable state of mind.

As for Queen Kari, I never looked deeply into it, I figured the numemon see this radiant, glowing girl who freed them from slavery, and being about as low as you can be for a digimon, they'd naturally hold her in great regard.

previously, the numemon have been attracted and enamored with other female characters who show them attention, such as Mimi.
