Not too bad, but.....
I remember when Kevin Smith himself said about ABC's decision to air this in the summer of 2000 in TV Guide: "Nobody is watching TV in the summer. Unless God himself gives it his holy blessing, this show is dead in the water." And of the six episodes made, two were aired before the network abruptly cancelled it. Like I said, this show was all right, it certainly wasn't the worst short-lived and adult-oriented animated series I had ever seen.
But consider this: it debuted in the year 2000. When shows like Survivor and Big Brother with a new kind of format also debuted on American TV. And over the next decade, so-called "reality-based" programming slowly but surely took over the airwaves as the most consistently popular genre of TV show in America, as well as much of the world. They are cheaper to produce and they dont need to hire major actors who have confirmed salaries as part of their contracts, and they can be aired any time of the year. They don't follow the "debut the new season in the fall and end the season in the spring" formula that scripted series have been doing for several decades. And that's the way it is now. Plus we have the internet and all the shows that are on that to boot. Let's face it, scripted shows that air on regular network TV are on their way out, they will eventually become obsolete. I believe that, and so do many others as well. Nothing against this show, but that's how I see it.
