Is Black River Falls any different?

This film was an enjoyable documentary, but I didn't really learn how the historical elements of this particular area were any different from anywhere else. In the end, I wanted to know how Black River Falls was somehow psychologically different from a small town in New York, Louisiana, Maryland, or in any other location. It seems to me that larceny, murder, and madness are intrinsic to the history of almost any small town on planet Earth.

I grew up in Black River Falls. I moved away in 1995 but much of my family still lives there. I watched Wisconsin Death Trip tonight and none of the stories were familiar to me. The scenery is much the same though. I spotted my uncle and cousin towards the end of the movie. I have always joked about people that never leave town end up with 'issues'. I think that can be said of any very small towns though.

I live near BRF and had never heard of this movie until I saw it on here. Interesting.

I go through Black River Falls on the way to my grandma's house near an even smaller town (Withee, WI). It always seems like a nice happy little town.
