I was really looking forward to seeing this

I saw an excerpt on YouTube so I knew what to expect. I didn't expect it to be a slasher film - I don't even like slasher films. I'm interested in history and I'm fascinated by post mortem photography which was common in the Victorian era, and so I thought I'd enjoy this film. But I just found it incredibly dull. I didn't find it disturbing - to me it was a bunch of disjointed historical snippets which didn't really instil a feeling for the period in me at all. Someone mentioned in another thread that you have to be "in the right mood" to watch this, so maybe I was in the wrong one!

Anyway, I just thought I'd add my two cents because I was *so* looking forward to it, and found it quite disappointing. That being said, I'm interested in reading the book because it seems to have a lot more content (obviously) and I can't really believe that the most interesting stories were chosen for the film! For me it was dullsville, I'm afraid.
