The Class?

Its a rather unusual question but in the beginning where they show the slides of the two girls faking suicides, What class is that? I'd imagine by todays standards, something like a slide show would be in an "Arts" class such as Media and on the wall there is an anti smoking ad (which backs it up even more) and it appeared that the Guidance Counselor was teaching them (because there was no other teacher in the room) and that guy would have a huge workload if he WAS actually teaching them and being a Guidance Counselor at the same time. The answer to this question has been driving me crazy for days.

Actually, Mr. Wayne gives the assignment's name at the end of the scene: "Life in Bailey Downs." So, no it wasn't supposed to be about teen suicide. Their slideshow would have been somewhat expected if it had been.

The fact that they turned that in for that subject is just freakin' hilarious. Not to mention gutsy.

Well if I had a subject with that as one of the assessments, I might do that just for a laugh.

Social studies, maybe. The slide show takes place in September so it's about at the beginning of the school year.

If it was a social studies class I'd put them under a survey for each assignment. Those two, especially Ginger, I would love to psycho-analyze on anything and everything I could.

I've wondered that too and in today's world, I doubt their pictures would have been seen in class without the teacher previewing them first. When I was in high school I took tv production and we had to make mini-movies on any subject we could think of then put into teams. The prize was to show it to the whole school and also some kind of award. The guys in my group wanted to do a 1920s gangster robbery. We made fake guns and put a lot of work into it. We were sure we'd win first prize. But, after we turned it in we were called to the office and pretty much asked why were wen into such violence and asked if we were depressed lol I found the whole thing funny and still do, but it wasn't shown because according to them anyone who made something like that had something wrong with them. I wish I still had my copy of it but the VHS tape is long gone. This was around 1992 or 93.
