Why did Lenny Taylor do that wierd dance in the bar?

When Freddie Mays and Gangster 55 meet Lenny Taylor and Maxie to talk about the burning of the club, why did Lenny Taylor do that wierd dance/spazz thing? Did he do it to make Freddy think he was crazy and unhinged, or what? Do you think that the actor just improved it? They didn't really explain that part.

Yeah, I think he was a bit of a 'nutter'. I'll have to try that routine sometime when I want to scare the h3ll out of someone. See what kind of looks they give me.

"Bobby, Bobby. Bubblie!"

reply

He was just taunting Freddy...that and he was a nutcase.

"Sex, Drugs, and House music...three words...three good times."

reply

he was pretty kookie. it's interesting when he and his right hand man are in the bar. And though Lenny seems nutty, we all know the gangster is the most intimidating of all.

reply

he was basically just taunting freddie. speaking of which, he seems pretty fast for a fat guy....

wacky london hardman....

"MAKE WAY FOR THE BAD GUY...THERE,S A BAD GUY COMING THROUGH"

reply

he is in fact jimmy foreman son of lengendary london face - freddie foreman

so he's seen a lot...in the past...

and acted very well..in the process...

I dont think he was really that fast. It looked like they sort of sped up the film for a moment, maybe to emphasize how wild he is.

The way he talked made him seem a "little bit suspect" too. The "Bobby Bobby, bubbly" thing.

reply

it looked like a NZ haka. Was probably just done to show he wasnt scared and to intimidate Freddie

reply

It was an awkward attempt to break the tension.

It's an abbreviated adrenaline charged version of the Maori Haka, a ceremonial war dance. You can see the New Zealand Rugby team perform the Haka before every international game they play. He's laying down the challenge to go to war.

I agree w/posters who say it looks like a Haka. Now, whether or not Lennie would have known the Haka, I don't know...
