I really hope they remake this for the 3DS... however...

I think Square-Enix should produce a quality Final Fantasy VI remake but they should make sure to avoid the mistakes of their previous remakes.

First off, DON'T, I repeat, DON'T butcher the dialogue and story in Final Fantasy VI. Every plot-point is essential to the story. This game is a classic yet the Gameboy Advance version found a way to ruin much of it (e.g. removing the scene where Celes is chained to the wall and beaten by the guards was unnecessary censorship as well as plenty of other scenes/lines omitted.) I think they should just use the original SNES/Playstation version of dialogue and story instead. Why tamper with a masterpiece?

Secondly, the graphics: The 3DS is rumored to have Gamecube graphics. Alright, if that's true then remake the graphics in Yoshitaka Amano's artistic style (similar to Okami). Final Fantasy III's art style looked good on the DS and Final Fantasy IV's art style was even better but I think that's the best way to remake this game. Also, maybe I'm nitpicking, but does anyone else find the character designs annoying? Seriously, they look like kids (or let alone midgets, to be honest).

Third, the voice acting. Final Fantasy IV's voice cast was... well... for better words, horrendous (Kain's voice in that game was the most disappointing of all but thankfully there's the option of switching off the voice acting). Usually Square-Enix is known for average to sub-par voice acting (Final Fantasy X specifically comes to mind) but could they at least try with this game? If not then I guess text is good as usual.

Those are really my only complaints. Anyone else that supports a remake have an opinion on this?
