Don't Show This Film in Class

I'm directing the stage version of this at a High School. I showed this version of the movie to my actors with the thought that, even though it isn't the greatest adaptation, they might get familliar with the major characters. And I thought it would be better than screening the other dated film with Cliff Robertson.

What a mistake! All showing this horrible film did was disappoint and suck the motivation right out of my kids. It took several weeks for me to get it out of their heads.

Bad adaptation with (mostly) bad performances - though Ron Rifkin always delivers the goods. It is a Canadian MOW and that's exactly what it looks like.

Just save it and make your kids read the book - or at least show them Cliff Robertson's Oscar-winning performance as Charlie.
