I think this is a good movie too. A but clumsy, but stylish and fairly intelligent, if not too violent and bloody. Above average barely ... maybe 4/5.

It's not a great film, it doesn't make enough sense, either literally or metaphorically. So I'd call it something between an interesting failure, and a guilty pleasure.

Because it doesn't make any sense, but hot DAMN does it look great! I just it again for the first time in years, and I was right to like it the first time, it's nonsensical and barely linear, but it's fascinating to watch.

Pretty much, it's a roller coaster, you're not meant to think about it.

It's my favorite Jennifer Lopez film!

For what that's worth...

One of the most boring films I've ever seen. Even the pretentious visuals were uninteresting.

I should give this movie another watch. I watched it as a kid and I remember being very confused and bored. And it's available at Walmart for a really low price.

I watched it again for the first time since it came out and I had a very different experience. About all I remembered was being bored by it, and very little else. It is anything but a boring film. The runtime is just under two hours and I never once checked the time. As for Lopez, she has never looked more beautiful. She gives a very understated but sincere performance. The rest of the cast is quite good, especially Vince Vaughn. But the real star of the film is the visuals. It is a feast for the eyes, without being obvious CGI. There are moments of genuine horror, which are honestly hard to watch, but also moments of tremendous beauty. The way the two different storylines at the beginning of the film converge and become intertwined throughout the film works wonderfully. I'm glad I revisited this film. I'd give it a very strong 9/10.
