Firstly, The Cell is one of my favourite films and I think Jennifer Lopez does a fantastic job in it, and gets a lot more criticism than she deserves.

However, it has always been one of the main criticisms from detractors of the film (arguably from people who haven't seen it/given it a chance) that it stars popstar J-Lo. So I'm asking, if Jennifer Lopez wasn't in the film, who else could do the job?

I think its quite a difficult role to fill requiring elements of softness and sympathy and also the sultriness present in Starker's dream world. For me then I'd say Angelina Jolie, Thandie Newton, Rosario Dawson (admittedly too late for the film) or Halle Berry. Who would you say?

Would have to be someone intelligent and sympathetic with the ability to really feel and then become a badass. Charlize Theron or even Liv Tyler.

I'd go for Charlize Theron too or Scarlett Johansson.

Yes! Liv Tyler would be a great idea! Same goes with Scarlett Johansson, especially since she quite recently proved herself like no other in Lucy for intimate (abstract-)emotional scenes... remember that phone-call to her mom scene in that film? That was out of this world!

Thandie/Rosario/Halle none of whom can act at all........and Lopez.......is really awful in every film that she is in...please??????
How about Samuel L. Jackson in drag?

Well the movie has a Hellraiser-ish feel what about Ashley Laurence (Kirsty from Hellraiser)?
