The scene with the mom

The scene where Carl is a little boy with his dad and his dad makes him look at his mom between her legs; is that his real mom? And did the dad make Carl do stuff to the mom or just look at her twat or what? That whole scene was the most disturbing one in the whole movie. Is it ever told what happened to Carl's parents?

No, that wasn't his real mom. I'm guessing that was his father's girlfriend or second wife. He was yelling about her not working and not being Carl's mother so if she didn't want to participate in the sexual abuse she could leave. I'm sure he made Carl do more, but thankfully we didn't see it. That part makes me sick.

As for what happened to his biological mom, I don't know. The three women on the beach (that appear to symbolize his mother) Novak encounters say that though Carl was her son, he wasn't her responsibility, he was an abomination, and that he had no soul. This is his perception of what she thought of him and though it's possible that his mother really did abandon him, maybe she didn't. She could've died or had no way to find him and his father put it into his head that she left and didn't care about them. No idea what became of his father either.

The father said that the mom
Abandoned them in the scene with the woman sitting on the couch with her legs spread.

Why not just watch the movie? That way you see exactly what we saw and hear exactly what we heard, then every single one of your questions will be answered. Because to ask such a stupid question when you watched the same movie I did would suggest to me that you are about 8-years-old and there is no way I'm talking about sexual matters with an 8-year-old.
