Many thanks Heathen!
I first watched this series when it was repeated (BBC2?) shortly after it was first broadcast and it has stood well the test of time. It is just as enjoyable now, even more so to see how young Ken Stott and David Tennant looked, and also how much the city skyline and Clyde walkway have changed in the 14 years.

It might just be nostalgia to say I prefer it the way it used to be... *sigh* Also maybe because I was a kid then too, rosy tinted specs and all that!

Something truly was lost when Inspector Taggart's "gddrreeen ceetah" disappeared beneath "gentrification."

A good way to revisit it is to watch the original 10 or so "Taggart" shows, when the city was its own character in the show.
