One of the worst japanese animes of all time

Seriously, like the other typical Japanese animes, this anime does not make any logical senses.

For example, during episode 28 -31 where Onizuka got framed for embezzlement. The school decided to hold an emergent faculty meeting to deal with Onizuka. Instead of getting the police attention, the stupid principle of the school made a non-logical decision that she suggests those students whose money got stolen should be the one who decides Onizuka's fate, not the teachers, not the school or the police. I thought wait a minute…what the hell was that? This is a criminal matter, not some kind of game. Not to mention she (the school principle) was the one who hired Onizuka as one of the school teachers, that means the school has the responsibilities and every right to decide Onizuka’s fate (like firing him). I know that Onizuka only got framed for what he did but the writer should make the scenario as much reality as possible. The school principle should also be described as impartial, fair as possible. However, this is not the case.

I don't know who is the creator, but honestly he/she must have a brain of a five-year-old. I know this is just an anime, but the story has to make some sense to people who watch it. Generally most Japanese animes like this one do not depict any reality in real life. I am worried that the young Japanese audience would take it for granted, does not know how the situation looks like in real life. The anime got too many twisted logic scenarios, is a bad influence, bad education, a joke. It might entertain some teenagers who drop out of school, but to intelligent people, this anime is completely flawed.

If this is how Japanese's educational system looks like in real life, I am sure the country will be a joke.

I suggest people who are interested in Japanese animes go watch Cowboy Bebop, Gundam Wing, Fullmetal Alchemist etc instead.

Maybe you didn't notice, but GTO is a C-O-M-E-D-Y. Seriously, are you that dense? Did you actually think this series was meant to be realistic? The guy becomes a teacher with no educational training what so ever! In the first or second episode, he destroyed the wall between a girl and her parent's bedroom, and nothing came of it! If you honestly expected the series to be 100% grounded in reality after that,I don't know what to say. How many comedies do you know are 100% reality based? Just about every comedy has highly unrealistic scenarios. You don't watch shows like this to become educated about the world, you watch them for entertainment.

You want me to point out how illogical it is for 15 year olds to be hired to pilot such complicated equipment like giant flying robots and actually know how to use them almost immidiately, like in one of the Gundamn series you're reccomending?

Also, were you stoned while typing this? Worst anime ever? Have you even seen Bakuguan, Baoh, Duel Masters, etc.

*while reading a gavin post*
"TIZ TIME TO LOSE SOME SERIOUZ BRAIN CELLS!"

You don't need to be rude to try to make a point. At least show yourself a little decency as normal human being.

"Maybe you didn't notice, but GTO is a C-O-M-E-D-Y. Seriously, are you that dense? Did you actually think this series was meant to be realist"

Nope, it's more like a stupidity, not a comedy. A comedy won't be as funny if the plots aren't attached to some of the reality people can understand.

If you like this type of brainless comedy, good for you, believe me i am not jealous. I will be much prefered something more substantial and intelligent.

"If you honestly expected the series to be 100% grounded in reality after that,I don't know what to say."

Who said I expect the anime is 100% realistic? In fact no one in this world would believe any movies or plays we seen are ever realistically based completely. GTO however has more than 60% illogical scenarios without being explained why. I have never questioned how a street punk like Onizuka who can't even teach himself, but being allowed to teach a class at school. This is because it explains that the principle of the school wants to hire someone like Onizuka to babysit the horrific class that seemingly no other certified teachers dare to handle. This makes sense. I won't complain about it because the question has been answered. Now get the point? In addition, let's recall one of my complaints to the series. Onizuka should be taken into police's custody for embezzlement. The principle who has the legal obligation to report to the police but chose to call to stop and demeaned the seriousness of this criminal matter is quite beyond me. This is a normal question. I believe any person with normal intelligence would complain about the same thing. I won't apologize for insulting your favourite show, i am not that kind of perosn who sees something wrong but not saying anything.

"You don't watch shows like this to become educated about the world, you watch them for entertainment."

How could you possibly be entertained by something that is so dumb? and just to be clear, no one is expected to watch a cartoon to get educated, especially not from Japanese animes.

"You want me to point out how illogical it is for 15 year olds to be hired to pilot such complicated equipment like giant flying robots and actually know how to use them almost immidiately, like in one of the Gundamn series you're reccomending?"

The series has explained that those boys got intensive, secret trainings in the colonies. I wouldn't be nitpicking that issue if i were you. But nice try.

"Worst anime ever? Have you even seen Bakuguan, Baoh, Duel Masters, etc."

Learn how to read. I said "ONE OF the worst Japanese animes of all time".

Uh no matter how long you write, there is no sense that it could be one of the worst japanese animes of all time. Btw Cowboy Bebop sucked a$s.

Your suggestions are like a joke, Also in GTO Gundam is made fun of, you are like those nerds in the GTO, get a life

Watch Neon Genesis Evangelion, Paprika, Grave of The Fireflies, Miyazaki's movies, Abe & Ueda animes, many more

Happy endings are just stories that haven't finished yet

I liked Cowboy Bebop and Great Teacher Onizuka. Neon Genesis Evangelion was plain awesome... didn't much like Paprika, thought it was a little confusing and random.

I recommend the first 3 I mentioned as well as Beserk, Blue Gender, Gankutsuou: Count of Monte Cristo.

Miyazaki's movies are pretty good but I've only see Howls Moving Castle, Spirited Away, and Princess Mononoke.

I haven't seen Grave of The Fireflies, Abe & Ueda animes.. I will give it a try.

Yeah, I have changed my mind on Cowboy Bebop. Actually it is very good, but not among the best in my opinion. Because Cowboy Bebop lacks story continuity, which is very important for me. I tend to watch 3-5 episodes a day whenever I am watching an anime. The uncontinuity of the story makes it very difficult to follow and makes no sense. However, if you watch the show one episode a day, it could actually be a good experience. Besides, the music, the designs, the characters of cowboy bebop are top notch.

And Paprika, I respect your opinion. It is kind of random because it is about the psyche of human mind. We do not dream consistently, but confusing and in a random way. I have never watched anything like paprika in my life except my own dreams. Thats why I praise paprika.

Berserk, a really good anime. Does not have anything special but the lead character is so badass, I would definitely watch if there was a sequel. Maybe I need to start the manga?

I have not heard about the others you have mentioned but I will definitely check them out.

Miyazaki is plain awesome. I had never expected to see the child within myself manifest before watching his works. Howl's Moving Castle is my favorite although many people say Spirited Away is the best. Mononoke, ahh simply breath taking... No words can describe his work.

Grave of the fireflies, is maybe the saddest anime film ever created. Everybody should watch it.

Abe&Ueda have worked on very thought provoking, mostly science fiction anime such as Serial experiments lain and Texhnolyze. They are very slow in terms of story telling because the story is told by the visuals. You would either love it or hate it. Haibane Renmei is a little different, maybe safer to watch, easier to enjoy.

Hey, Soldier. Do you know who's in command here?

reply

Urg seriously? Grave of the fireflies was was an overrated piece of *beep* You calling GTO's scenarios stupid? In grave of the fireflies the kid actually starves to death because both of them were too dumb to get food in one of the most agriculturally blessed countries in the world. The guy just let his sister die instead of actually trying scavenge for food. Tragic story? Fck no. I was screaming at him to stop been whining like a pussy and actually go do something, heck anything whether its cooking a boot or digging around for bugs would of been better than doing nothing like them.

reply

Anyone who is not able to grasp what is trying to be told in Grave of the Fireflies is pathetic in my eyes. Grave of the Fireflies is a fictional story inspired by a real story. Many people pointed out the contradictions yet they are not significant enough to cripple the story in any way. Grave of the Fireflies is a MASTERPIECE.

I am not calling GTO's scenario stupid, but unrealistic in no way disturbing.

Hey, Soldier. Do you know who's in command here?

reply

In the Grave of the Fireflies the kid just moans about how much they're suffering without making any effort to remedy the situation. Then what do you know his sister dies and we're all supposed to feel sad or something. Errg. That's pathetic.

A stupid plot like this doesn't deserve to called a "masterpiece", that is if you don't have really low standards.

God damn, first if you're gonna criticize an anime for "not make any logical senses" then why don't you start by learning grammar and make sense yourself.

Second the only reason why this doesn't make sense to you is because, you sir, ARE A MORON. The police doesn't get involved UNTIL SOMEONE REPORTS IT (which they haven't), and even if SOMEONE REPORTS IT, they won't jack, because NOONE WAS WILLING TO PRESS CHARGES! Get it? The plot hole you so idiotically pointed out isn't in fact a plot hole and actually makes perfect sense but you're just TOO STUPID TO REALIZE!

I greatly respect the writers of this anime because they actually put together a great series without using most of the cliches and tropes of your typical anime. The story flowed realistically, and it was a great moving story about a unorthodox teacher who cared about his students.
