When that Italian idiot showed up while she was working, why didn't she just tell everyone that he was a loon sicced upon her by her Father? Why did she have to suffer through "also" being dishonest?

shareShe acted like she wanted to tell everyone and couldn't get a word in edgewise -- but really she didn't try hard enough. There may have been a part of her that wanted to see what it was like to be "engaged." It reminds me of the lead character in Belle (2013/14).

shareIt would be a cultural thing to disobey her father, who set them up, like the father's arranged marriage. Otherwise, nothing else about that not-even-a-relationship, yet she agrees to marry him, makes any sense.
And is the father gay now with Ben? Haven't completed watching the film, so may get my answer yet.
