Did this happen in the book? Cos in the film, this is just what Sam hopes for.
sharealthough that wouldve been a great ending, it isnt the one in the books. Skipped Parts is just the first in the grovont trilogy (including Sorrow Floats and Social Blunders)

The ending is simply Sam's hope for the future. What really happens is revealed in the following two books, SORROW FLOATS and SOCIAL BLUNDERS. The fourth book in the GRO VONT trilogy, titled "LYDIA" comes out in March 2011.
