Why did he dye his hair blonde?

I thought it was part of his vigilante, identity concealing quest to honor his dead wife, but in all the flashbacks where she's still alive, it's already dyed. Interesting choice for a married insurance investigator.

~_^ Why it is impossible that blonde is a natural hair color for a married insurance investigator?

Well you can tell by looking at it that it's obviously a dye job, it's too light for his age. Were we supposed to think that's his natural hair color?

"Well you can tell by looking at it that it's obviously a dye job, it's too light for his age."

Can you elaborate? What makes it look "obviously" like a "dye job"?

I have known people, who had light hair as kids, and whose hair always remained just as light (if not lighter) than this character's. And it was all natural, no "dye jobs".

So your claim needs a bit more elaboration than "it just looks that way, obviously, duhh". It's not obvious at all without a further explanation as to what (supposedly) makes it so obvious.

The character's hair color is just supposed to be a dirty blonde, I guess.

I think we're only supposed to care about how nicely cut Guy Pearce's body is, not his hair color. Dude was crazy in shape for this movie.
