Colin's good, rest of actors are irritating

I know this was written by Mike Bender and all, but I really can't stand him in pictures. Maybe it's because he played such a louse in that Mind of a Married Man, and in this one he's got that whiney thing that went out of style around the same time Mad About You went off the air (I know, that's Paul Riser.) But I'm a big Colin fan, but the movie was rendered nearly unwatchable by the rest of the irritating cast. And I'm starting to notice that CF has a fist fight in a staggering number of his films. Is this some sort of acceptance criterion he has before taking on a film?

I thought the script had potential, and had some funny lines and turns - like when Alan says something like "a therapist is a therapist, you tell them your problems and hope to God you never recognize them in public" and then how he ends up back at the Therapist after Fiona goes to Rome.

But really, I thought it just went on and on and on, and I actually ended up watching it in overlapping chance viewings on one of my cable networks.

Not a true representation of us Brit's, I do not think, (hope!) but then I am not a londoner. It's very quirky and has a honest feel in it's style, and some lovely shots of London, beautiful lighting, gives it this dreamy glow.

Bit of a fore runner for love actually this film.

Colin Firth fan's, looking for Mr Darcy fans will be disapointed, more the Fever Pitch character here probably, but he plays it brilliantly as usual.

It is a really modern, deep look at relationships, which could tee of some great conversations.

Also very funny in places, Stephen Fry is so funny as the therapist and Jack Dee is his usual wonderful self, although it is strange to see him sharing a stage.

Definately worth a watch this film.

I watched this because Colin was in it and as usual he's really good. The film itself was rather disappointing; the first half hour was slow and then the last hour was rushed and the plot had little depth. I did like the humour though and on many occasions found myself in fits of laughter. And there were plenty of 'Colin moments' to keep me happy.

I usually love Colin's films, but this one was truly awful.

This film on DVD was in my local Woolworths and cost £2. That shld have told me it was poor. It was. Without a separate director, the cast leads were all over the place. I like Colin Firth and hope he was well paid, cos this role gave him very little else. The plot jumps around, isn't consistently funny enough to be a comedy, and to compare it to "Four Weddings" or "Notting Hill" (on the DvD promotional blurb)is i think insulting to the writers of those superbly crafted scripts.

With much better material Irene Jacobs should be a star. But this film can surely not have helped her either.

I like Jack Dee in stand up and love Colin's work. But I think jack Dee should of written his own lines. Colin did a good job with what he had..... Does he read the scripts before he takes the job?????? No that is a bit mean. He probably didn't know how bad the cast where going to be. 95% of the time he is in some great stuff or takes on really interesting parts.

The British casting should feel good and the American casting department should be embarrassed

I only paid £1 in Tescos (after Woolworths closed down) and I still feel I overpaid!

They found some nice locations not so often used by film makers but used all the cheesy ones too. I am a Londoner and okay I can recognize my beautiful city but hey there's no substance in this.

I can beat those, I paid 49p in Tesco and Jesus Christ this was one of he few films I've not watched until the end. It was bad.

What was with the titles clearly being changed and the music obviously being replaced by a generic public domain track?

I suspect someone has acquired ownership of the film but not acquired the rights to the name or music track, thus we get the hacked in results. Weird.
