Vincent Gallo
Does anyone know what part of the movie Vincent Gallo appears in? I was watching for him but I must have missed it.

shareIt's been a while since i've watched it but i've never seen him in it either. He may have been edited out in the final DVD. He definately helped score the soundtrack though
shareVincent Gallo, ha.
shareVincent Gallo rules!
shareIn the commentary, Glenn O'Brien specifically mentions "neither Vincent Gallo nor John Lurie are in this movie" so I think his listing is a mistake. There is a song by him playing during one of the scenes, but I don't know which scene.
shareI saw John Lurie in the beginning of the film. He was sort of hard to spot. He came out of a building and said something about their band playing that night. He was wearing a horrible plastic looking long coat with a belt around the waist which you would NEVER ASSOCIATE with John Luries style EVER! Plus he was carrying a guitar, which we know John is a Sax Player, so that totally throws his appearance off.
As for Gallo, I don't remember seeing his face anyplace. He must not have had any or many lines. Im tempted to watch it again just to see if I can catch it.
I was actually pleasantly pleased with this film as I expected a rough documentary with no story or anything. Jean was very natural through the whole thing, not wooden like you would expect a non actor to be. I wanted about 20 minutes more of it tho.
If John Lurie is actually in it why would Glenn O'brien say he wasn't? I saw this movie a couple times a few years ago and made a point to look for John Lurie - I didn't see anyone the whole movie who looked even remotely like him.
shareGallo is in the movie Basquiat not Downtown 81. And he appears as an extra in the dinner scene. Gallo is awesome, Buffalo 66 is one of my favorites
shareI don't thinks he stars in it. He would have been quite young at the time.
shareI haven't been able to get hold of this film, but i've read he is in it, in a street scene.
Also to the person who said he was to young, he was around the 80s art scene as he used to be in a band called gray with basquiat.
Mental note: "The Boat" could be a very cool new nickname
He was the one who got the hummer from Chloe Sevigny in the hotel room.
