Shown on BBC 2 last night.

I rarely sit up untill 4.00 am watching films. Trouble was I couldent turn the tv off, because I was so drawn in by this film. The reason I started to watch was because im currently learning italian, but folowing the dialog became irrelevent. Its just a real film, that will leave you feeling like a different person by the time youve finished watching. It will stay with me.

I watched it for the same reason as you, slackjaw - I've seen it before and had forgotten just how subtle and intense the film is. Brilliant. (Not quite as sleepy as you, though - I stayed awake long enough to set it manually recording - the change from BST to GMT came at just the wrong time and my recorder simply couldn't cope with the confusion!!)

Emotion aside, it's a good one for us language learners, very clear and not too fast - unlike Gomorrah, recently out, which though a wonderful film is in fast Neopolitan dialect and, well - don't even try unless you are really advanced.!
