Did you cry?

I found this movie extremely gripping, but I didn't cry. And I'm a big crier, believe me. Maybe it was because there wasn't some emotional music along with the scenes (or was it? don't remember).

Koolgod, don't be a dick. Have you spoken to the director about his intentions? The film has a degree of emotional resonance as well as an intellectual one, as with pretty much EVERY FILM EVER MADE.

Nymphea, answering to your question, yes, I cried several times. This is a very intelligent and emotional movie. I wonder why some people think that intelect and heart have to be apart.

I'm not a cryer, but I did feel moved quite a bit. I was struck by the family dynamic: the teenagers didn't appear moody and rebellious as they do here in the States, and there seemed to be only the slightest hint of marital discord. The tears didn't fall, but yeah, I sniffled a bit.--Carolyn B., Glenham, NY

Same here. I was deeply moved and connected to the characters. But, I didn't cry. I'm almost never moved to tears. The last film that did that to me was "Million Dollar Baby."

I cried several times throughout the film. Once the credits had rolled I started to tell my partner about the film I had just seen, but broke down in tears and had to tell him a few minutes later instead. That has never happened from memory. So yes, I cried!

No ... but there were two moments which caused me some agony as I thought of my mother's death, which is quite recent. The agony was too raw to cry.

I've never cried at a movie, though I've come close.
